GLSM – Vindicating Express Constitutional Environmental Rights in Montana
Attorney Kim Wilson tells the story of the Montana Environmental Information Center v. Montana Department of Environmental Quality, perhaps the first time a court applied an express constitutional right for the purposes of environmental protection, here to conserve wild waters and fishing areas in the State of Montana in the U.S. David (Kim) Wilson was one of the lead counsel in MEIC v. DEQ, 1999 MT 248, in which the Montana Supreme Court first enforced Montanans’ constitutional right to a clean and healthful environment. He is a graduate of Montana Law School and is currently a lawyer for Morrison, Sherwood, Wilson & Deola.
